China and Senegal sign lunar research agreement, joining global organizations to advance deep space exploration.

The Second International Conference on Deep Space Exploration (Tiandu) opened in Tunxi, Anhui, China, on September 5, marking a significant milestone in international space cooperation. At the opening ceremony, Li Guoping, chief engineer of the China National Space Administration, and Malam Khair, director of the Senegalese Space Agency, formalized their nations’ commitment to lunar exploration by signing the “Agreement on Cooperation in the International Lunar Research Station.” This agreement underscores China’s deepening collaboration with African nations in space exploration.

In addition to the China-Senegal partnership, the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the International Lunar Research Station” with 10 international organizations. These organizations include the Belgrade Observatory of Serbia, Spacetalk of Switzerland, Orbital Space of the United Arab Emirates, the Space Science Innovation Center of Panama, Bandar Lampung University of Indonesia, the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan, and several African institutions such as the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory, African Space Development Foundation, and the African Business Alliance.
