Ooredoo, Mastercard and QNB Announce the Launch of Mastercard Contactless Tap & Go and Virtual Prepaid Cards

In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, Ooredoo is committed to further driving digitalisation of the economy in the country and ensuring the rollout of the latest in digital payment solutions, providing consumers with quick, easy and convenient options to perform transactions.

Consumers will be able to apply for the Mastercard Virtual Prepaid card directly using the Ooredoo Money app. The new product enables immediate issuance of digital cards and allows users to perform safe and secure online payments.

Through this partnership, Ooredoo Money will also be issuing Mastercard’s Contactless Tap & Go physical cards, enabling contactless and frictionless payments using secure Near Field Technology (NFC) while shopping anywhere in the world. Users will be able to issue Contactless Tap & Go physical cards from Ooredoo Money shops in the coming weeks.
