The National Communications Institute of Mozambique (INCM) has approved the request of Starlink to operate in the country. This project will allow Mozambique to improve digital inclusion in the rural areas of the country. The chairman of INCM believes that the internet service provided by Starlink will grant access to communications to the people of Mozambique regardless of their geographic position, and boost the public education sector.

“I would like to thank SpaceX for selecting Mozambique to be its first partner and the first country in Africa to introduce its internet services that will mitigate and facilitate access to the internet in the country, increase digital inclusion and consequently social inclusion,” said Tuaha Mote, INCM Chairman, at the lisence hand-over ceremony in Maputo.
