du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), is donating AED1 million to Al Jalila Foundation, a global charity organisation dedicated to transforming lives through medical research, education and treatment.

The donation was announced by Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Executive Officer at du, and Dr. Abdulkareem Al Olama, Chief Executive Officer at Al Jalila Foundation.

du’s contribution will help fund the foundation’s latest projects, including research grants that have created training opportunities for more than 400 young students and post-doctoral associates in the UAE, and contributed to 321 publications in multiple international scientific journals and 284 conference presentations.

In addition, projects funded by Al Jalila Foundation have led to six patent inventions, four new discoveries and numerous local as well as international awards for research excellence.
