IFC to Buy up to $160 Million in Equity from Safaricom Ethiopia

The International Finance Corporation, the World Bank’s private investment arm is going to be injecting up to $160 Million in equity in Safaricom Ethiopia.

In a recent announcement, the International Finance Corporation disclosed that they are going to be buying $160 Million in equity in Safaricom Ethiopia to help its capital expenditure.

The proposed IFC transaction comprises an up to $160 million equity investment in the Company to help fund … capex requirement.

A separate debt package is also being discussed.
