Vodafone Commences Electronic Payment Services in Qatar

Vodafone Qatar has announced the launch of iPay following the granting of the electronic payment license to the company.

Vodafone Qatar P.Q.S.C. has announced that it has been granted the first license issued by Qatar Central Bank to provide electronic payment services through its subsidiary Infinity Payments Solutions L.L.C. (“iPay”).

These new services include the issuing of electronic wallets through the iPay mobile payment system, which provides a payment feature for merchants and enables users to transfer funds locally. The electronic wallet also facilitates international money transfers via a licensed bank or exchange service in the State of Qatar.

Vodafone Qatar following the news of the license launched Qatar’s first licensed e-wallet, iPay.

Our new iPay solution supports Qatar’s move towards a more digitised economy, as well as Qatar Central Bank’s vision of achieving a cashless economy by 2030. Vodafone has responded to the growing demand for accessible digital fintech solutions – a trend that was observed globally in 2020 and has continued to grow in significance since then. It is also part of our wider digital transformation agenda for Qatar, aiming to support customers quickly and efficiently via cutting-edge self-service technologies.
