MTN Uganda to Participate in the South Africa Trade Investment and Tourism Summit

MTN Uganda has announced that they are going to be participating in the Uganda – South Africa Trade Investment and Tourism Summit that will open next week in South Africa. Government and business leaders will gather to discuss emerging business and investment opportunities.

When H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda met with the MTN Group officials at State House, Entebbe on the 21st of October 2021, he reiterated a long-standing commitment to facilitate the industrialization drive in Uganda by attracting agro-processors from South Africa into Uganda.

We are, therefore, contributing financial support towards the sponsoring the upcoming summit in South Africa as a fulfillment of the promise we made in supporting government efforts in attracting foreign direct investment.

In furtherance of this commitment, MTN Group will facilitate a 2-day summit in Uganda in May 2023, in collaboration with the mandated Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies responsible for investment and trade as a follow-up to the Uganda – South Africa trade, investment, and tourism summit in South Africa, and provide a platform to conclude investment opportunities between South African investors and Ugandan investors.
