Center3 Completes its Marine Survey of the Africa 2 Pearl System within the Africa 2 Submarine Cable

Center3, a subsidiary of stc Group and stc Bahrain, announced the completion of the marine survey of the “Africa 2 Pearl” system within the “Africa 2” submarine cable project in Bahrain. The “Africa 2” alliance constitutes a unique communication system across 3 continents that includes 46 landing stations across 33 countries of landing, to enhance the role of the Gulf region among the countries of the world.

After its completion, “Africa 2” will be the longest submarine cable in the world with a length of 45,000 km. It will provide safe and reliable communication and internet services across the continents it passes through by adding landing stations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iraq, Pakistan and India.

Connecting the Kingdom of Bahrain through the “Africa 2 Pearl” system contributes to accelerating the pace of digital transformation in the GCC countries, as this advanced technology provides high communication speeds that help raise the level of the sector in the region as a whole, accelerate economic growth, encourage innovation, and enhance cooperation with other countries. Middle East and North Africa region.

The “Africa 2” project is characterized by a unique and pioneering design that reduces obstacles affecting the communication process within the region through the scope of distribution of submarine cables throughout the GCC countries, which will ensure the stability of communications service and increase its reliability.

The landing of the Africa 2 Pearl cable in the Kingdom of Bahrain is an important achievement in the company’s successes and represents an additional step towards achieving our goals of connecting Asia, Africa and Europe. We have invested in communications infrastructure through center3 to provide exceptional services to customers, and to contribute to the realization of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
