Smart Africa Digital Academy (SADA), the capacity-building arm of Smart Africa, hosted a ministerial training at the sidelines of GITEX Africa as the initiative’s aims to empower African citizens through capacity building reaches new heights.

Titled “innovative governance for the digital age”, the session was organized in collaboration with Thunderbird School of Global Management and Africa Digital Academy as well as the GITEX Africa. The capacity building session seeks to grow the Africa’s public sector leadership capacity, taking into consideration the evolving skillset needs of African Policy and Decision Makers to be successful in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants will expound on four main priorities namely: equity and inclusivity, agile governance, digital transformation and automation of government administration.

Smart Africa’s Director General Mr. Lacina Koné emphasized the vital need for leaders to have the required skills that will enable them to adapt to the changes, both positive and negative, brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

We, as leaders, can develop the skills to lead in this uncertain and fast-paced environment, to ensure that our nations thrive in this digital age. We must embrace innovation, adapt to evolving technologies, and seize the opportunities presented to us.

Mr. Lacina Koné, Director General, Smart Africa

The current cohort of the Ministerial training has attracted Ministers of ICT as well as their representatives and digital economy of 11 African countries and will be followed by series of capacity building sessions in the near future.
