Safaricom PLC, in collaboration with senior government officials and business leaders, recently participated in the launch of the #GavaMkononi initiative and the revamped e-Citizen platform. These developments have expanded the range of government services available online, with over 5,000 services now accessible through the platform.

We look forward to enabling Kenyans access these services through our wide agent network, as well as on the M-PESA super app.

Peter Ndegwa, Chief Executive Officer, Safaricom PLC

As a company committed to Transforming Lives, Safaricom PLC aims to ensure that all Kenyans have access to reliable internet and affordable devices. This connectivity is crucial for enabling citizens to conveniently access government services online. Safaricom plans to leverage its extensive agent network and the M-PESA super app to facilitate Kenyans’ access to these services.

In addition to facilitating access, Safaricom is also playing a role in advancing financial technology solutions for the government. Through M-PESA, the company provides a fintech platform that enables various transactions such as payments, credit, savings solutions, and vouchering. This platform supports transformative initiatives like the hustler fund, student loans, and agricultural input subsidies.

As a technology-driven company, Safaricom remains committed to its longstanding collaboration with the government. The company is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that enhance service delivery to Kenyans. By combining their expertise and resources, Safaricom and the government aim to improve the lives of citizens through digital transformation and inclusive access to essential services.
