FNB Appoints Sashin Sookroo as CEO of FNB Connect

FNB, a leading South African bank, has announced the appointment of Sashin Sookroo as the new CEO of FNB Connect, the bank’s mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Sookroo, who has been with FNB for over 14 years, has played a crucial role in driving innovation across different business areas, including the EFT Product House and Core Banking.
Lytania Johnson, CEO of FNB’s Personal Segment, expressed confidence in Sookroo’s abilities, citing his extensive experience in financial services, technology, and payments, along with his deep understanding of FNB’s culture. This makes him well-suited to lead FNB Connect, which aims to provide better access to telecommunications and ICT services through its digital platform.
Sookroo’s previous role at FNB was Head of Retail Payments, and he has held various positions within the bank since joining in 2009. His experience spans retail banking, product management, business intelligence, and business analysis in the Payments segment.
Sookroo’s appointment comes as he takes over from Bradwin Roper, who assumed the role of chief financial services officer at MTN South Africa earlier this year.
FNB Connect offers a range of services to customers, including voice and data plans, smart devices, and prepaid vouchers for airtime, electricity, entertainment, streaming, and gaming. Leveraging FNB’s platform, customers can easily manage their SIMs, data, and voice plans.
The appointment of Sashin Sookroo aligns with FNB’s commitment to enhancing telecommunications and ICT services, providing customers with seamless connectivity and digital solutions through FNB Connect.
