Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, has appointed Salima Mormorna Bah, a 32-year-old barrister and solicitor, as the new Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation. In her new role, Bah will spearhead Sierra Leone’s digital journey, leading initiatives to promote the use of technology for the country’s development.

Salima Mormorna Bah holds an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Wales (Holborn College) and is an active member of the Sierra Leone Bar Association. With her legal expertise and dedication to the rights of women and children, she also serves as an executive member of Lawyers, a non-profit organization of female lawyers focused on defending the rights of vulnerable groups.

As the Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation, Bah will play a crucial role in driving technological advancements in Sierra Leone and harnessing the potential of digital solutions to propel the nation’s growth and development.

With her youthful perspective and legal background, Salima Mormorna Bah’s appointment is expected to bring fresh ideas and innovation to Sierra Leone’s efforts in leveraging technology for progress. Her leadership in this key ministry is poised to contribute significantly to the country’s digital transformation and inclusive development.

I am excited by the challenge to drive the president’s digital transformation agenda and deliver solutions that would improve the lives of all Sierra Leoneans. It is time for all of us to come on board and contribute to our national development.
