MTN Group to Receive Corporate Social Responsibility Award from Africa-America Institute
The Africa-America Institute (AAI) in New York is set to honor MTN Group with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award next month.
The telecommunications giant, boasting 272 million subscribers, will be recognized for its pivotal role in transforming communication across Africa, bridging the digital divide, driving economic growth, and raising living standards.
The award will be received by MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita at AAI’s 70th Anniversary Gala on September 19th.

The Africa-America Institute, established in 1953, has a long-standing commitment to promoting connections between Africa and America through education, training, and dialogues.
Over its 70-year history, AAI has awarded scholarships and fellowships to nearly 23,000 African individuals, including notable alumni like Namibian President Hage Geingob, Côte d’Ivoire President Alassane Ouattara, Niger President Mohamed Bazoum, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
