In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, MTN has reaffirmed its dedication to providing women and girls equal opportunities in the digital economy. Recognizing that access to digital education is crucial in shaping a digital future, MTN is actively involved in Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives focused on skills development and inclusion.

With a particular emphasis on women and girls, MTN is committed to fostering connectivity and empowerment. Efforts are underway to ignite girls’ interest in STEM fields, where women are often underrepresented. MTN witnesses daily evidence of girls overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges, highlighting their unstoppable determination.

In Congo Brazzaville, MTN’s collaboration with Chevron has given rise to the “One Woman = One Training in ICT” program. This initiative aims to cultivate digital skills among selected women, covering essential modules like automation, computer graphics, and community management. Similarly, in Cote d’Ivoire, the “STEM GIRLZ” project equips girls and young women with ICT skills to participate in the digital economy.

MTN Uganda recently celebrated a significant milestone with the graduation of 70 young talents in Computer Applications through the MTN Girls in Tech program. This achievement, in partnership with Smart Girls Foundation, underscores MTN’s commitment to practical skills training and breaking down gender barriers in the digital realm.

Inclusion of girls is not just a moral imperative, but rather a necessity to secure the future for all. The force of collective responsibility cannot be underestimated; each of us has a role to play in this global endeavour, and the time for action is now.
