Rwanda Launches “Smartphone for All Teachers” Program in #ConnectRwanda2.0 Initiative

The Ministry of ICT and Innovation in Rwanda has introduced the Smartphone for All Teachers Program, a key component of the ConnectRwanda2.0 initiative. This program aims to provide 1058 top-performing teachers in the country with smartphones, along with complimentary unlimited calls and 4G internet for an entire year.

Hon. Paula Ingabire, Minister of ICT & Innovation, highlighted the importance of empowering teachers with advanced tools in the ever-evolving education landscape. She emphasized that smartphones not only enhance teaching capabilities but also contribute to fostering an environment conducive to nurturing the minds of future leaders. The Minister underscored the various advantages of smartphones for teachers, including educational content consumption, communication, collaboration, digital and financial literacy, access to information, and adaptive teaching strategies.
