In adherence to the Communications Act of 2009, Dr. Peya Mushelenga, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, has officially extended the SIM card registration period until March 31, 2024. This three-month extension offers individuals who have not yet registered their SIM cards additional time to comply with the regulatory requirement.

As of the latest statistics, 62.5% of SIM card holders have successfully completed the registration process. This represents a total of 1,491,349 registered SIM cards out of the 2,383,920 currently active in the system. The extension aims to encourage the remaining users to complete the registration process within the specified timeframe.
