Driving Financial Inclusion: Airtel Money’s Commitment to Empowering Communities through SACCO Partnerships.

Yesterday marked another significant milestone in the journey towards financial inclusion, as we celebrated achievements and milestones at the Naddangira Agali Ewamu SACCO grounds in Kakiri. The event was not only a moment of recognition for our members but also an opportunity to highlight the commitment of Airtel Money towards fostering financial inclusion.

Penninah Namubiru, Manager,  Alternative Deposits, graced the occasion, representing Mr Japhet ARITHO, the Managing Director of Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited.

Magala Steven Mutyaba, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Naddangira Agali Ewamu SACCO, expressed gratitude to Airtel for being a steadfast partner in their growth journey.

Speaking at the ceremony, Penninah Namubiru highlighted the success of Naddangira Agali Ewamu SACCO, attributing it to the organization’s effectiveness. She commended the SACCO’s organization, stating that Airtel Money was inspired to “walk the talk” and become members themselves. Recognizing the vital role of an organized SACCO in society, Namubiru emphasized the commitment to providing affordable, secure, and instant financial services.

Namubiru explained how Airtel Money is committed to providing convenient and secure money transfers.

We have simplified and eased money transfers.  Now members can send money without visiting the SACCO offices and incurring transport expenses. Additionally, responding to SACCOs’ call to remove charges for withdrawing loan money, Airtel Money decided to eliminate the disbursement charge, further easing financial transactions.

In a fitting conclusion to her presentation, Penninah Namubiru had the honour of drawing the winning ballot for the motorcycle in the SACCO’s “Win BodaBoda Share Promotion.” This initiative not only showcases our commitment to financial inclusion but also underlines the tangible impact on the community we serve.

In closing, the celebration goes beyond mere milestones; it reflects our ongoing dedication to empowering communities through accessible and inclusive financial services. Airtel Money remains devoted to driving positive change and making a lasting impact on the journey towards financial inclusion.
