U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken celebrated Angola’s role as the third African nation to join the Artemis Accords for peaceful space use. He highlighted the potential benefits, including addressing droughts and improving water management.

Blinken also announced Angola’s participation in the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils (VACS) initiative, aiming to bolster Africa’s food production. The initiative focuses on enhancing agricultural resilience through high-quality seeds and soil mapping.

Emphasizing the importance of knowledge transfer, Blinken concluded that partnerships, including that with Angola, thrive on shared understanding. The Luanda Science Center, where Blinken spoke, serves as a symbolic hub for collaborative efforts in both space exploration and agricultural innovation.
