Accelerate Africa, Future Africa, and Prosper Africa Launch Top Founder Program for African Startups

Accelerate Africa, in collaboration with Future Africa and Prosper Africa, has unveiled a unique opportunity for ten of the continent’s most promising founders. Scheduled to commence from April 1 to May 31, 2024, the program aims to provide unparalleled support and guidance to selected participants.

Renowned operator VCs in Africa, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Mia von Koschitzky-Kimani, will be offering their expertise to support the chosen founders. With a track record of building, funding, and advising numerous African startups such as Andela, Flutterwave, Moove BV, and Daystar Power, among others, Aboyeji and von Koschitzky-Kimani have been instrumental in nurturing the growth of these ventures into billion-dollar enterprises, some of which have been acquired by global corporations like Mastercard and Shell.

Recognizing the need for localized support tailored to the African startup landscape, the duo has provided guidance to over 25 founders in gaining admission to global accelerators. However, they observed a gap in the support offered by these accelerators, prompting the decision to establish a solution themselves.

Despite initial plans not including the creation of a global accelerator, the team recognized the significance of addressing this gap within the ecosystem. With aspirations to develop the “Y Combinator of Africa,” Accelerate Africa aims to provide founders with the necessary resources and expertise to navigate the complexities of building successful ventures on the continent.
