The Egyptian Satellite Company (Nilesat) signed a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement with the Arab Satellite Communications Corporation (Arabsat) as the two leading companies in the field of satellites and telecommunications services in the Middle East and the Arab region.

The agreement, signed last week in Riyadh, covers cooperation in the fields of satellite television broadcasting and communications in the region. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the third edition of the Saudi Media Forum, which was held in the Saudi capital from February 19 to 21.

Nilesat’s Chairman and Managing Director, Major General Sameh Qata, stressed the company’s keenness to open more outlets for cooperation with various satellite operators in the region within the framework of the company’s plans to exchange experiences and the capabilities of satellite technology.

He pointed out that the joint cooperation with Arabsat aims to achieve integration in the provision of satellite broadcasting and communication services through an advanced satellite system covering wide geographical areas that meet all the needs of customers in the Middle East and Africa.

For his part, the CEO of Arabsat, Eng. Al-Humaidi bin Manahi Al-Enezi, expressed his happiness with the cooperation with Nilesat, describing it as a good start to conclude new agreements that enhance the strategic partnership between the two sides, support development in all fields of satellite broadcasting and communications, and enhance partnerships in many areas of common interest to achieve the interests of both parties.
