Zimbabwe’s President Launches Phase 2 of Rail Fiber Optic Project to Boost Connectivity

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe has unveiled the second phase of the nation’s ambitious national rail fiber optic project, signaling a significant stride towards bolstering connectivity not only within Zimbabwe but also across the African continent. The project aims to position Zimbabwe as a pivotal hub for internet services in the region.

In an announcement on X(formerly Twitter), President Mnangagwa expressed pride in the collaboration with Brandwidth and Cloud Services Group, emphasizing the importance of such partnerships in realizing Zimbabwe’s vision for enhanced digital infrastructure. This initiative marks a concerted effort to leverage modern technology to drive socio-economic development and bridge the digital divide.
