Committed to taking part in industry events to exchange knowledge and support research and innovation, Ooredoo participated in, and be the Telecom Partner for, the International Conference on Innovative Engineering Sciences & Technological Research (ICIESTR 2024). Dedicated to the latest advances and trends in engineering and technology, ICIESTR 2024 was the first IEEE international conference organised by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Oman.

IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the world’s largest technical professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. As such, ICIESTR 2024 brought together practitioners in engineering and technology from industry, academia, and the government, providing them with a platform to share their insights and experience. Topics included emerging technologies, sustainable engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energy, data science, and the Internet of Things.

Ooredoo continues to transform sustainably into a technology-focused and innovative company well-positioned to play an essential role in shaping the future of communication and innovation. During this event, our team was able to exchange insights, ideas, and best practices in innovation, digital transformation, and customer experience with other stakeholders. These endeavours support us in adapting to the evolving digital landscape and the ever-changing needs of society-at-large.

Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Abri, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Ooredoo Oman
