Safaricom Ethiopia has announced the donation of 160 laptops to 16 high schools in Tigray region.

The schools receiving the donations fall within the areas to be covered by the first phase of our launch in Tigray region.

In addition to the laptops, Safaricom Ethiopia will provide the 16 schools with 48 Wi-Fi routers, ensuring teachers have access to the internet. To further support the schools, we are offering free airtime for the first six months. Following this period, the schools will be onboarded as enterprise customers, allowing them to continue benefiting from our services. The laptops, routers and airtime are worth a total of more than 8.5 million birr.

We believe in the transformative power of education and technology. By equipping these high schools with laptops and internet access, we aim to facilitate a more conducive learning environment.

Sisay Zerihun, Acting Chief of External Affairs, Safaricom Ethiopia
