Safaricom and CNET Partner to Integrate M-PESA with POS Systems in Ethiopia

Safaricom has announced a strategic partnership with CNET, a leading fintech company supplying point-of-sale (POS) systems in Ethiopia. This collaboration aims to integrate Safaricom’s M-PESA mobile money payment system with CNET’s POS technology, enabling merchants to utilize M-PESA services seamlessly.

The integration will ensure that M-PESA customer-initiated payments, merchant-initiated transactions, and QR code payment services are available at each merchant outlet using CNET’s systems. This development is expected to significantly enhance the digital payment landscape in Ethiopia, making transactions more convenient for both consumers and businesses.

This partnership is a significant step forward in our commitment to empower Ethiopia through digital financial services.
