The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) has levied a N150 million fine against Multichoice Nigeria according to several reports that have surfaced. This decision reportedly came after Multichoice challenged the tribunal’s jurisdiction over a price restraining order.

In addition to the financial penalty, the tribunal has mandated that Multichoice provide one month of free subscriptions to all Nigerian customers of its DStv and GOtv services. This ruling reportedly aims to address consumer grievances and ensure compliance with the tribunal’s directives.

According to the reports that have surfaced Multichoice Nigeria, however, has responded by filing an application to contest the tribunal’s jurisdiction.
