The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is poised for a significant boost in its digital infrastructure following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Congolese Optical Fiber Company (SOCOF) and the Agency for Steering, Coordination and Monitoring of Collaboration Agreements (APCSC).

Augustin Kibassa Maliba, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital, announced the agreement on X, expressing his satisfaction at chairing the signing ceremony.

This MoU paves the way for the installation of conduits and optical fiber along road routes as part of the Sino-Congolese contract. This development is seen as a major step forward in improving national connectivity and fostering economic growth across the DRC.

The improved digital infrastructure will play a crucial role in enabling wider internet access, faster communication speeds, and enhanced digital services for businesses and citizens alike.
