Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has expressed his enthusiasm for the remarkable growth of the Awarri team since its inception in November 2023. The company has expanded to a team of 120 members and has further engaged over 500 fellows from the 3MTT Nigeria programme as data collectors. This collaborative effort is pivotal in developing Nigeria’s first Large Language Multilingual Model.

Dr. Tijani emphasized the significance of these advancements in fostering a robust technology workforce. He anticipates that as more companies enter this evolving space, Nigeria will play a crucial role in the global AI development landscape. This initiative is a testament to Nigeria’s commitment to driving innovation and contributing to the broader technological frontier.
