Streaming Innovation Alliance Expands with Six New Members
The Streaming Innovation Alliance (SIA), established in September 2023 with 17 founding members to advocate on state and federal policy issues affecting streaming services and viewers, has recently expanded its membership. The six new members joining SIA are Demand Africa (by The Africa Channel), FedNet, In The Black Network, Radiant Technologies, SkinsPlex Native America Online, and TVEI Network. These additions bring a wide range of content, from live coverage of the US Congress to African and Native American storytelling, as well as classic TV shows.
SIA’s new members embody the unique, diverse options and qualities that make streaming so popular. We’re proud to welcome each of them to SIA’s ranks and look forward to working together, telling streaming’s story to policymakers and the public across the country.

The alliance unites large national streamers with independent services that offer films, shows, sports, and news through various service models, including ad-supported, on-demand, and subscription options. This diverse representation positions SIA to effectively advocate for the streaming community and the preferences of its consumers.
As state and federal governments consider new policies for the streaming era, SIA brings its members’ unique perspectives and expertise to the forefront of the debate. The alliance champions pro-innovation policies that enhance the diversity and richness of streaming services while safeguarding consumers from regressive taxes and fees that could limit choices and increase costs. Former U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI) and former FCC Commissioner and Acting Chair Mignon Clyburn (D-SC) serve as Senior Advisors to the Alliance.
SIA is also dedicated to educating policymakers on the distinctions between human-curated professional streaming services and user-generated-content platforms and social media. In March, SIA held a well-received “Meet the Streamers” event and NCAA basketball watch party in Washington, DC, to highlight the growing access to live sports via streaming. The organization plans to follow up with an online event later this summer, focusing on the technological innovations driving modern streaming services.
By welcoming new members and continuing its advocacy and educational efforts, SIA aims to protect and promote the diverse, innovative, and consumer-friendly landscape of the streaming industry.
