Google for Startups Accelerator Africa Unveils 8th Cohort of Innovators Shaping the Future

Google for Startups Accelerator Africa is set to launch its 8th cohort, highlighting the continued growth and innovation within the African tech ecosystem. This program is instrumental in supporting startups that address both local and global challenges through technological ingenuity and creativity, contributing significantly to economic growth and the continent’s future.

Among the standout startups are Clafiya and Ridelink. Clafiya is transforming healthcare access by connecting patients with practitioners for on-demand primary care services, a critical advancement in a region where healthcare accessibility remains a challenge. Ridelink is revolutionizing cargo mobility for small businesses, offering a platform that simplifies transportation logistics and enhances operational efficiency.

The 2024 cohort includes ten startups from Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa, each utilizing artificial intelligence to address pressing issues. These startups are not merely building businesses; they are developing solutions that aim to uplift communities and drive technological advancement across Africa.

The new cohort features:

  • CDIAL AI (Nigeria): Improving multilingual communication across Africa through artificial and collective intelligence.
  • Earthbond (Nigeria): Delivering affordable, reliable energy solutions with a focus on carbon accounting and development finance.
  • Fixxr (South Africa): Providing convenient on-location vehicle maintenance and repair services.
  • Lifesten Health (Rwanda): Innovating health and wellness through comprehensive screening and incentive-based programs.
  • MyAIFactchecker (Nigeria): Using AI to combat misinformation and support informed decision-making.
  • Nakili (Kenya): Modernizing salon and spa management with a mobile app for enhanced customer experiences.
  • NextCounsel (Nigeria): Enhancing lawyer productivity with AI tools for contract management and compliance.
  • Nobuk Africa (Kenya): Simplifying financial management for groups with a platform for fund collection and payment reconciliation.
  • Rana Energy (Nigeria): Offering clean, data-driven energy solutions to SMEs and communities.
  • Triply (Kenya): Building Africa’s travel operating system with seamless booking and management tools.
