CubeSpace, a leader in the aerospace industry, has announced the acquisition of Dawn Dusk, an innovative satellite simulation software company. This strategic acquisition is designed to integrate Dawn Dusk’s cutting-edge satellite simulator with CubeSpace’s offerings, promising to deliver an unparalleled service to CubeSpace’s expanding customer base.

The integration of Dawn Dusk’s satellite simulator will allow CubeSpace customers to simulate their satellite control systems on the ground before launching them into space. This capability will significantly boost customer confidence, as they can undergo the commissioning process in simulation prior to launch. By testing satellite responses on the ground, customers can de-risk their operations, ensuring smoother and more reliable in-orbit performance.

One of the key features of the Dawn Dusk simulator is its ability to connect with physical CubeSpace hardware, enabling Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) testing. In these tests, the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) hardware operates as if it is in space, with the simulator generating in-orbit telemetry. This setup allows customers to develop their On-Board Computer (OBC) code for interfacing with the ADCS and test it on real hardware.

In addition to the integration, all ADCS-related services previously offered by Dawn Dusk will now be absorbed into CubeSpace. However, Dawn Dusk will continue to offer its simulator for various non-ADCS tasks, including constellation planning, power and link budgets, and maneuver planning, among others.

This acquisition is one step in a larger plan for CubeSpace to position itself as the number one ADCS supplier globally for all sizes of satellites. Future steps include expanding the range of larger microsatellite reaction wheels and dramatically scaling up production. CubeSpace aims to have stock on the shelf, eliminating lead times and ensuring rapid delivery to customers.

This move underscores CubeSpace’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and reliable service to its customers, ultimately supporting their success in orbit. By offering an integrated simulation and hardware testing solution, CubeSpace aims to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of satellite missions, ensuring that customers can confidently achieve their space objectives.
