ATCIS Rejects Telecom Tariff Hike, Calls for Improved Service Quality

August 19, 2024

The Association of Telephones, Cable TV, and Internet Subscribers of Nigeria (ATCIS) has voiced strong opposition to the recent proposal by telecom operators to increase tariffs. In a statement, ATCIS expressed its concerns, arguing that such a hike would place an undue financial burden on telecom subscribers across the country.

ATCIS highlighted that rather than raising tariffs, telecom operators should focus on enhancing service quality. The association pointed out that Nigerian consumers have been facing numerous service issues, including frequent network disruptions, inadequate customer support, and poor connectivity. They emphasized that improvements in these areas are crucial and should take precedence over tariff adjustments.
