Safaricom Ethiopia Hosts Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub for Key Discussions

Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC welcomed Shameel Joosub, CEO of Vodacom Group, to its Ethiopian operations. Joosub, accompanied by Safaricom Ethiopia CEO Wim Vanhelleputte, engaged in significant discussions with Ethiopian government officials.

During his visit, Joosub met with Balcha Reba, Director General of the Ethiopian Communications Authority, to address critical issues within the telecom sector. He also held a productive discussion with Ahmed Shide, the Minister of Finance, focusing on recent macro-economic reforms.

In addition to these meetings, Joosub conducted a business review session with Safaricom Ethiopia’s leadership and shared insights with the staff at a townhall event. This visit underscores the commitment of both Vodacom and Safaricom to fostering strong relationships and contributing to the growth of Ethiopia’s telecom industry.
