M-PESA Africa Wins Excellence in Financial Inclusion Award at African Fintech Summit

M-PESA Africa has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Financial Inclusion award at the 11th African Fintech Summit, further cementing its role as a pioneer in financial services across the continent. The award highlights M-PESA’s impact in connecting over 60 million customers, 5 million businesses, and 80,000 developers to a digital ecosystem that fosters greater financial inclusion.

With its significant contributions, M-PESA has driven over 60% growth in financial inclusion in countries like Kenya and Tanzania, where over 87% and 89% of the population, respectively, now have access to financial services.

During the summit, Jason Masai represented M-PESA in discussions on advancing mobile money for greater financial access, while Reuben Simiyu addressed how fintech innovations are boosting e-commerce and cross-border trade logistics under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). M-PESA’s participation underscored its commitment to shaping the future of financial inclusion and digital innovation across Africa.
