Zambia Holds Bilateral Talks with African Ministers at 2024 Digital Government Africa Summit

Zambia’s Minister Felix Mutati holds bilateral talks with African Ministers on technology cooperation during the Digital Government Africa Summit.

Technology and Science Minister Hon. Felix Mutati has held bilateral talks with several Ministers from various African countries who are attending the 2024 Digital Government Africa Summit in Chongwe.

Hon. Mutati has talked to the visiting Ministers on many issues that their respective countries share common interest with Zambia in the technology and science sectors.

The Ministers engaged so far are from Burundian, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania and South Sudan.

During his engagement with Burundian Minister of Communication, Information, Technology and Media Hon. Léocadie Ndacayisaba, the bilateral talks were centered on Digital Economy, Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence and Telecommunication Regulations.

The two Ministers have since given technocrats from the two countries time to prepare for the signing of Memoranda of Understanding on areas of mutual interest for possible cooperation in the ICT sector.

The MoUs are expected to be signed before the Burundian Minister flies out of the country after the end of the Digital Government Africa Summit.

Hon. Mutati was accompanied to the talks by Director Communication and Digital Technologies Mr. Milner Makuni, Director Science and Technology Dr. Larry Mweetwa, Assistant Director Communications Mr. Khumbuzo Nkunika and Senior Planner Mr. Bonaventure Mutale.
