October 9, 2024
1 min read
Author: Joyce Onyeagoro

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), the Film and Publication Board (FPB), the Information Regulator South Africa, and the ZA Domain Name Authority, the forum aims to harmonize efforts where their respective mandates and legislations intersect. The official launch of this strategic collaboration is set for Thursday, 10 October 2024.

The forum seeks to create a cohesive regulatory framework that addresses key areas including information rights, communications, content regulation, technologies, and media. By fostering closer cooperation among these regulatory bodies, the initiative is expected to streamline policies, improve the oversight of digital platforms, and ensure that the diverse challenges of South Africa’s evolving digital environment are met with a unified approach.
