Safaricom has announced a strategic partnership with NBA Africa, marking a significant milestone in youth empowerment through sports and technology. This groundbreaking collaboration, supported by Safaricom’s M-PESA and M-PESA Go platforms, aims to provide young people in Kenya with access to thrilling opportunities, including basketball tournaments, coaching clinics, and skill development programs.

As part of this initiative, NBA Africa and Safaricom will jointly host four regional Jr. NBA tournaments across Kenya, catering to boys and girls aged 16 and under. These tournaments will culminate in a national competition featuring 16 teams later this year. The partnership not only fosters sportsmanship but also encourages personal development and access to new opportunities for young athletes, furthering Safaricom’s commitment to enriching the lives of Kenya’s youth.
