ZimSmart Villages Showcases 5G-Powered Telehealth Services at NetOne Launch Event

At NetOne’s 5G launch event, ZimSmart Villages showcased its telehealth services to Honorable Vice President Cde Kembo D.C. Mohadi and ICT Minister Hon Tatenda Mavetera . During the demonstration, they observed a live telehealth consultation between a patient at Boka and a doctor stationed in Nyanga. This real-time interaction highlighted the transformative power of 5G, which promises faster, more reliable connections, enabling immediate diagnostics and virtual consultations.
With 5G’s lower latency and high-speed capabilities, ZimSmart Villages is set to enhance healthcare delivery through our BatsiHealth platform. This technology will bridge healthcare gaps, especially in remote areas, by facilitating remote health monitoring and virtual care that rivals in-person consultations.
ZimSmart Villages also shared its vision of expanding telehealth access across Zimbabwe, with plans to establish 150 telehealth kiosks by 2025. These kiosks will be supported by 750 telehealth booths in agent shops, 100 booths in partner pharmacies and radiological centers, and 10,000 community agents working together to revolutionize rural healthcare.
