CANAL+ partners with AREWA24 to bring diverse Hausa programming to millions, expanding cultural entertainment across West Africa.

CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL has sealed a partnership with Nigeria’s popular entertainment and lifestyle channel, AREWA24, bringing its rich Hausa-language programming to CANAL+ audiences across West Africa. Since its launch in 2014, AREWA24 has been at the forefront of promoting Hausa culture, reaching over 80 million viewers in the region.

AREWA24 offers a broad range of content, from lifestyle programs like “Gari Ya Waye” to youth and women-focused shows, hip-hop segments, and Kannywood films. The channel also airs health, children’s, and cultural programs, alongside long-running Indian and Turkish dramas dubbed in Hausa. As of today, AREWA24 is available on CANAL+ satellite platform, channel 285, marking the introduction of a new set of television channels in Niger.

Cheikh Sarr, Managing Director of CANAL+ Niger, emphasized that this partnership aligns with the company’s mission to deliver high-quality programming and foster stronger ties with Nigerian partners. He expressed hope that the collaboration would not only strengthen the entertainment landscape in Niger but also provide a gateway for talent to reach French-speaking African markets.

Celestine Umeibe, Head of Sales at AREWA24, echoed this enthusiasm, noting that the channel’s partnership with CANAL+ INTERNATIONAL will introduce high-quality Hausa-language content to new audiences across the region, continuing AREWA24’s legacy of cultural promotion and entertainment.
