Colt and Telecom Egypt Launch High-Speed Internet Transit Nodes in Cairo and Alexandria
Colt has announced a strategic partnership between Telecom Egypt and Colt to launch two new high-speed Internet transit nodes in Cairo and Alexandria. Hosted in Telecom Egypt’s data centres, these nodes will leverage Telecom Egypt’s international infrastructure, which connects over 60 countries, along with Colt’s extensive IP network, to reach every part of the global internet.
This collaboration will enable both Telecom Egypt and Colt to offer robust, high-performance digital services to customers across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, significantly enhancing the end-to-end internet experience and supporting the digital transformation journey of businesses in these regions.
With over 160 years of experience and an extensive network of submarine cables, Telecom Egypt has built a strong reputation for providing cutting-edge technology and reliable infrastructure solutions to its customers in Egypt and beyond.
Located in what is known as ‘the heart of the world’, Egypt provides African, Asian, and Middle Eastern carriers with extensive access to internet transit nodes, leveraging the 13 submarine cable systems currently landing on its eastern coast. This number of cable systems is planned to increase to 18 by 2025, further solidifying Egypt’s strategic role as a global connectivity hub.
