As the leading B2B media platform, TechAfrica News is dedicated to exploring Africa’s digital transformation from all angles, spanning both public and private sectors. We cover a wide range of topics, from technology and media to telecom, satellite, and broadcast, focusing on their impact across the continent. In this journey, we also recognize the crucial role of digital transformation in Africa’s healthcare landscape, driving the growth of the HealthTech industry and revolutionizing healthcare delivery.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce that TechAfrica News is joining forces with the Africa HealthTech Summit  in a strategic media collaboration. As the premier HealthTech event on the continent, this summit plays a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare in Africa by bringing together key stakeholders from across the sector.

This third edition of the Africa HealthTech Summit taking place in the Kigali Convention Center, is organized by Africa CDC and Smart Africa and will unite ministers of health and ICT, national public health institutes, regulators, leading tech innovators, healthcare professionals, development partners, investors, and academics. Together, they will explore how emerging technologies can be harnessed to build resilience and improve health systems and individual well-being across African communities.

The Africa HealthTech Summit Official Opening Ceremony will feature a Welcome Address by Hon. Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, Minister of Health Rwanda, a Keynote Address by H.E. Dr. Jean Kaseya, Director General of Africa CDC, and Opening Remarks by Lacina Koné, CEO of Smart Africa.

“The Africa HealthTech Summit is a vital platform to emphasize how digital transformation is set to revolutionize the healthcare sector in Africa. Our team is glad to be a part of this journey, not only to highlight the innovations but also to amplify the voices of those driving positive change in the industry.”
– Akim Benamara, Founder & Chief Editor of TechAfrica News

“The Africa HealthTech Summit continues to be a cornerstone for advancing health innovation across Africa. By fostering collaboration between technology leaders, health professionals, and policymakers, we are building the foundation for a more resilient and efficient health system. The role of media is pivotal in amplifying these efforts, and through this strategic partnership with TechAfrica News, we can ensure that the stories of innovation, impact, and transformation in healthcare are shared across the continent and beyond. Together, we are not only addressing today’s healthcare challenges but also shaping a future where quality health services are accessible to all.”
– Jean Philbert Nsengimana, Chief Digital Advisor at Africa CDC

Under the theme, ‘Innovating for Community Health, Unlocking the Power of AI,’ the summit will focus on the potential of AI, Cloud, Internet of Things, robotics, drones, and blockchain technologies to tackle Africa’s most pressing health challenges. Key sessions will address strategies and solutions for strengthening health infrastructure, enhancing disease prevention and surveillance, improving supply chain efficiency, expanding access to diagnostics and care, building health-worker capacity, and driving progress toward universal health coverage across the continent.

The summit will delve into critical topics such as connected diagnostics and Africa’s integrated disease surveillance, aiming to strengthen early detection and response to health threats across the continent. It will also explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in improving healthcare delivery and decision-making, as well as innovations in digitized primary care that are enhancing access to quality health services for underserved communities. Furthermore, the summit will spotlight initiatives like the Africa Digital Health Index and Healthconnekt Africa, which are driving the continent toward better health data governance and more efficient healthcare systems, ultimately fostering progress toward universal health coverage.
