Kenya and Malaysia Deepen Digital Ties Ahead of Tech Symposium in Nairobi
Eng. Tanui hosted a Malaysian delegation to strengthen digital collaboration, explore export opportunities, and prepare for a tech symposium fostering Kenya-Malaysia partnerships in innovation.

ICT and Digital Economy Principal Secretary Eng. John Tanui met a Malaysian delegation at the Ministry headquarters ahead of the Malaysian-Kenya Tech symposium.
The Malaysian Delegation was led by High Commissioner of Malaysia to Kenya H.E. Amb. Ruzaimi Mohamad; Kenya High Commissioner to Malaysia H.E. Amb. Ekitela Moru and Vice President Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Wan Murdani Mohamad.
Eng. Tanui, who was accompanied by Secretary of ICT – Infrastructure, Washington Okoth, commented on the strong digital collaboration between Malaysia and Kenya, noting that the two countries look forward to signing a Memorandum of Understanding in an effort to accelerate digital transformation in Kenya and Africa at large.
The PS further noted that the Malaysia business mission is a significant step towards bilateral trade, fostering collaboration and exploring new digital export opportunities between Malaysia and Kenya.
The delegation, which is here on a business matching mission, will tour the Konza Technopolis and Equity Bank Limited.
The tech symposium, to be held at the Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi, will bring together leading Malaysian tech companies and key players in Kenya’s tech ecosystem for a day of insightful discussions and partnership opportunities.
The event is organised in collaboration with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Nairobi, the High Commission of Malaysia in Kenya, the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy along with other key ICT partners.
