The Central Bank of Egypt will introduce card tokenisation in 2025, replacing card details with digital identifiers to enhance payment security and reduce fraud risks.

Multiple reports have confirmed that the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is set to launch card tokenisation in 2025.

Reportedly the tokenisation could replace traditional card details with unique digital identifiers, effectively reducing the risk of fraud in digital transactions.

Aligning with global trends in cybersecurity and financial technology innovation, Egypt is reportedly aiming to provide a safer, more secure environment for both consumers and businesses in the evolving digital economy.
