The NCC and CBN are collaborating to resolve the mounting debt crisis over USSD services, aiming to settle financial disputes between telecom operators and banks.

Multiple reports have confirmed that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is partnering with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to address the growing debt crisis over Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services.

This collaboration reportedly aims to resolve financial disputes between telecommunications operators and Deposit Money Banks (DMBs).

USSD, or Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, is a crucial protocol in the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network, enabling services like text messaging and financial transactions, including cash transfers and balance inquiries.
