Landmark Signing of Telecom Consumer Protection Regulations Held in Gompa City
Liberia Telecommunications Authority launched “The People’s Regulations,” ensuring telecom consumers receive value for money. Enforcement begins in 60 days to allow industry adjustments.
The Liberia Telecommunications Authority has posted that the Consumers Protection Regulations, a set of consumers sensitive rules crafted by the LTA with the sole aim of ensuring that Consumers of Telecommunication Services in the country receive value for money was officially launched on Friday, November 22, 2024.
The Regulations dubbed “The People’s Regulations ” was historically signed by the LTA acting Board of Commissioner in Gompa City, Nimba County. The well attended occasion was graced by a hosts of local county officials, civil society organisations as well as representatives of the students community.
Speaking at the landmark signing, LTA acting Commissioner for Consumers,Public Affairs and Universal access, Patrick Honnah among other key issues stated that the Regulations will come into full force sixty days as of the signing process.
This, Commissioner Honnah said will enable the MNOs do some meaningful adjustments so as to adhere to the regulations effectively and efficiently.
