Zain KSA launches the fourth edition of its 'Women in Tech' program, partnering with Huawei, Nokia, and Princess Nourah University to boost women’s role in Saudi ICT.

Zain KSA has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its ‘Women in Tech’ (WIT) program. This pioneering initiative is a collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and global tech providers Huawei and Nokia.

WIT 4 underscores Zain KSA’s commitment to continue advancing the initiative to drive inclusion, a core pillar of its corporate sustainability strategy. This program demonstrates the company’s dedication to a more diverse and inclusive society by synchronizing public and private sector efforts, fostering knowledge localization through strategic global partnerships, and enhancing Saudi women’s role in national development.

The WIT program, supported by the MCIT, represents a multi-stakeholder effort to achieve more inclusion in the ICT industry. This strategic initiative – championed by the public and private sectors – aims to boost women’s participation in the digital economy and bridge the gender gap. Notably, female representation in the industry has surged to 35% in 2024, up from 7% in 2018, marking a significant stride toward realizing Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of shaping a promising digital future.

Zain KSA is rolling out the fourth edition of the WIT program through a strategic partnership with Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University that involves offering specialized training and capacity-building programs for over 150 students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. The program provides an exceptional blend of advanced technical training from global tech leaders Huawei and Nokia, equipping students with hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies and applications. Designed to facilitate a smooth transition from academia to the workforce, the initiative enhances technical expertise and connects students with industry leaders, unlocking opportunities in innovation and tech entrepreneurship.
