Kenya Strengthens Global ICT Ties at German-African BPO Summit
PS Tanui emphasized Kenya’s strategic focus on international partnerships during the German-African IT and BPO Summit, aiming to position Kenya as a regional tech and innovation hub.
Principal Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui participated in the Bridging Markets: German-African IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Summit, a precursor to the German-African Business Summit held in Nairobi. The summit showcased Africa’s growing prominence as a premier outsourcing hub for IT and business services.
PS Tanui emphasized that the government’s strategic focus on collaboration with international stakeholders is essential for driving Kenya’s digital transformation and enhancing its competitiveness in the global market. By fostering partnerships with global tech firms, Kenya aims to position itself as a regional hub for technology and innovation, attracting significant investments that will bolster its ICT sector.
Also in attendance were Christin Schulz-Kaunga, Head of Programme at the Digital Transformation Centre Kenya (GIZ), and Christoph Kannengiesser, CEO of Afrika-Verein (German Business Association), among many other distinguished guests.
