Safaricom Foundation Launches Wezesha Agri-Eco Hub to Empower 5,000 Youth in Busia County
This two-year program will equip youth, women, and persons with disabilities with the skills and digital tools needed to thrive in modern, sustainable agribusiness.
Safaricom Foundation has launched the Wezesha Agri-Eco Hub Project in Busia County, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering over 5,000 youth through agriculture, enterprise development, and ecopreneurship.
In collaboration with Ustadi Foundation, LAKE BASIN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, Alupe University, County Government of Busia, among other partners, this two-year program will equip youth, women, and persons with disabilities with the skills and digital tools needed to thrive in modern, sustainable agribusiness.
The program will focus on climate-smart farming, digital literacy, and connecting youth-led agribusinesses to markets via e-commerce, creating new economic opportunities.
A centre of excellence Demo Farm will also provide hands-on training in innovative agricultural techniques and green technologies.
With strong partnerships, we’re laying the foundation for a new generation of agripreneurs and transforming agriculture into a viable catalyst of economic empowerment for Kenya’s youth.
