ASAL and SANSA Sign MoU for Space Cooperation

Algeria’s ASAL and South Africa’s SANSA sign an MoU to collaborate on peaceful space science and technology projects.

The Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) signed, on December 6, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of space science and technology, during a ceremony co-chaired by the President of the Republic Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the President of South Africa Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, on a state visit to Algeria.

This Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the space sector was signed on the Algerian side by Mr. Azzedine Oussedik, Director General of ASAL and on the South African side by Mr. Humbulani Mudau, Director General of the South African Space Agency (SANSA).

Its aim is to strengthen cooperation in the field of space science and technology for peaceful purposes, including the development of mutually beneficial joint projects in the fields of space technologies and applications and the promotion of exchanges of experience and information.
