CBN and NCC Direct Banks to Pay N212.5 Billion Debt for USSD Charges

CBN and NCC have ordered Nigerian banks to pay N212.5 billion, 85% of the N250 billion debt for USSD charges.

Multiple reports have confirmed that The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have directed banks to settle N212.5 billion, which is 85% of the N250 billion debt owed to telecom operators for USSD charges.

According to the reports. the move could resolve the outstanding payments following prolonged disputes between the banks and telecom providers.
