Communications Authority of Kenya Eyes Sharp Hike in ISP Fees

Kenya's Communications Authority proposes raising satellite ISP licensing fees from $12,302 to $115,331, along with a 0.4% annual levy.

Multiple reports have confirmed that Kenya’s Communications Authority (CA) has introduced a proposal to increase the 15-year licensing fees for satellite ISPs. According to the reports, the fees are set to rise from $12,302 to $115,331.

The reports further confirm that in addition to the fee hike, the new regulations include an annual levy of 0.4% of the gross turnover for satellite Internet providers.
